Book Review: Aliens In Underpants Save the World
Aliens In Underpants Save The World by Claire Freedman
This is one of my favourite books to read aloud in children's storytimes. Claire Freedman's 'underpants' titles are all good, Aliens Love Underpants!, Dinosaurs Love Underpants, Aliens Love Panta Claus, but I enjoy reading Aliens In Underpants Save The World to children most of all!
Any book featuring underpants is bound to raise a chuckle, but this is such a fun and zany read. Aliens devise and execute a plan to save the earth using underpants! The rhyming text scans well and the illustrations are bright with lots of amusing detail. I've read this aloud to children from 2 to 10 years, and they all seem to have loved it. We had a blast in an Aliens themed storytime when we all designed (and wore) our own underpants and alien masks together. The publisher has even provided a template for the underpants so you can't go wrong.

ahhh... I am planning a post about underpants so this is perfect for me. When you say the kids wore what they designed (in your linked post to the actual session) - how did that work? Did you use real pants?
ReplyDeleteNo, the pants weren't real, just 2-d paper ones, but they look great held up in front by hand or with double sided tape. The photos were fabulous, it's a shame that I'm not able to share them!
